Do something meaningful with your beads!

Mail your beads, drop them off, or join us every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from now until November 23rd to use your beads to help bead for the cure to breast cancer!

How it works:

Make an 18” necklace with your beads and donate it to Beading for the Cure. All the necklaces will be joined together to form the world’s longest necklace. Your necklace will be displayed with your information as part of this huge chain of necklaces.

Once we have created the world’s longest necklace, South Sun will deconstruct the chain and add a clasp to each necklace to make hundreds of individual necklaces. The necklaces will then be auctioned for charity (all proceeds will go to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation). This could be the most meaningful piece you ever make!

Bead for the cure in the company of friends!

If you live in San Diego, we will be providing beading wire, crimps, and refreshments at the tables in the front of our store, a place where beaders can gather, share, and collaborate on this wonderful project. Get out your pink shirts and come down to South Sun for our open Beading for the Cure hours!

Each time you donate a necklace we’ll give you 70% off all yard sale beads for the entire day!

 Get involved as a volunteer

If you have a big heart, a little extra time, and are looking for ways to help support the cause, you can participate as a volunteer. Right now we’re looking for people to help spread the word and encourage others to get involved, as well as guide/entertain beaders coming in for our open bead. Live outside of San Diego?
